Fetching DeWa -or- Moving Marvin's airplane halfway across the country to Oscar's Medford Hangar...

My little tilt bed trailer doesn't have a long enough overall basis to protect an airplane fuselage with an engine mounted. I had to "extend" it with a longer tongue

And rewire it for new lights making it safe for night-time running over the highway

2100 miles of dead running make loading the trailer into the bed a much more practical option than dragging it empty all the way to Indiana.

Typical day's drive...

This guy was awesome helping me by unloading my trailer with a massive forklift. Sometimes you're in just the right place at the right time.

To arrive at Justin's place ready to go 45 minutes later.

Yup, this is the one I came to pick up!

About an hour later, getting DeWa loaded up for the ride home.

I did a a couple overnights at the KR Gathering at Lee's Summit on the return trip. Rob Schmitt let me park in his hangar.

And another overnight at my brother's place in Denver. Thanks Mike & Trisha!

Onward...

Getting close to home alongside the Mighty Columbia River for a break on an unused roadbed spur...
