Our own Robert Covington has a nice article on the initial construction of his KR2S. For those of you who aren't familiar with Custom Planes, it's what EAA's Sport Aviation magazine used to be back in the early 80's. Full of good information with excellent photo essays on How-To type stuff. It's not another 4-color publication featuring expensive aircraft owned by rich folks. And thank goodness they don't bombard us with Warbird crap. Check out a copy at your local news stand. And no, I am in no way connected with the publisher..... Nice work Robert! This helped the friction a lot. I also sprayed dry teflon lubricant (great stuff) on the alum surfaces. I also stuck in a thin teflon washer which may or may not be a good idea. My hinge friction (three hinges, all mounted to spars) approaches zero but whether it will stay that way is anyone's guess. If you got two years 12 issues for 15 bucks you did well. 6 bucks for one issue is a rip off but they all do it. cost money to pay for time of one human to put a label on a magazine and drop it in a mail box. Kit Planes screwed up my subscription when I started and I would not pay. Finally after receiving a bill every two weeks for three monthe I finally called to get it straight and tell them I was not happy getting old Dog Eared issues after they were already out on news stand. After getting her to promise to send me Dec & Jan first class mail in an envelope I gave her my credit card number. I did rec them in an envelope a week later, I hope I now get Feb before March. I think the guy at the post office takes them home and reads them first. If my Feb issue comes Dog Eared with reader service card missing like the Sept issue did I will cancel.
