Given its tendency to want to swap ends, seems the nose dragger version is a better engineered design. Assuming that the typical landing will be a hard surfaced runway with a crosswind. Bland" Date: Fri, 9 Apr 1999 17:01:17 -0500 X-Message-Number: 3 After several weeks of trying to decide whether I really wanted to sell my project or not I have finally decided that I am going to definitely sell it. I have decided to sell it because of my recent divorce. My project has been widened to the width of a Dragonfly. It has been stretched 10 inches over the KR-2S plans. The firewall was widened 3 inches. The fuselage is built with vertical sides. The woodwork on the boat is almost completed. The windshield bow and door frame have been built (I was basically building a copy of Mike Mims canopy). The forward deck and turtledeck are made and have been glassed, but they have not been permanently attached to the boat. I have the spruce for the center forward spar caps and the center rear spar caps. The spruce for the center forward spar caps have been laminated but are not cut down to finished size. I have added up all the receipts and I have about $1175 invested in the project so far. This figure includes the price of the KR-2 plans and the KR-2s supplements. I will be needing to move it out of my garage as soon as possible. If anyone is interested please contact me. If you are really interested in it you can call me at 918-343-9794 and I will try to answer any questions you might have. If you get the answering machine please leave me your name and number and I will call you as soon as I get the message. As I said in an earlier post, I will not be leaving KRNet and I will still be active with KR's (already made plans to help out Dana with the 99 Gathering). I will eventually start another KR project but I plan to wait until the new airfoil has flown and the new composite spar design has been proven (really need a project that I can pull the wings off of easily because of lack of hangar space in the Tulsa area. - Brian J Bland Claremore, OK Mail to: brianbland@netzero.net http://www.flight2000.com/hangar/KR-2S/ ________________________________________________________ NetZero - We believe in a FREE Internet. From: Mike Mims Date: Fri, 09 Apr 1999 20:34:28 -0700 X-Message-Number: 9 Well net heads today I took a vacation day and put in a good 8 hours on the KR. I made TONS of progress and found that working actually motivated me even more. If the weather cooperates I should have some ailerons by next weekend. I also installed my last beef-up for the motor mount. This engine will stay put I guarantee it! :o) I plan to head back out to the hanger in the AM and start glassing and filling. Speaking of next weekend, I think that was the date for Chinokosh. So far I haven't heard from anyone that wanted to show up so I didn't bother to let RR know. Maybe we can reschedule for another time? Besides I feel more like getting work DONE instead of talking about it! :o) -- zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Micheal Mims mailto:mikemims@home.com http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Hangar/4136/ Friends don't let Friends fly behind Ivo Props!
