From: Krwr1@aol.com Date: Tue, 11 May 1999 08:47:13 EDT X-Message-Number: 3 Hi Bill here I flew my KR at 15000 ft , and did not drill the spars.,, But you need to drill a hole in wing panels , They deform while sitting on the ground from the heat of the sun . I drilled holes in the tail sections also . I read of a new kr that was sitting on the ground in the sun , and the owner was sitting looking at it , and noticed the wings were bulging , He realized what was happeneing , and went and poked holes each wing panel , and said it sounded like air coming out of a tire . It grabs well even on varnished wood but allows you to shift the foam when fitting it. It doesn't sand for beans so keep it below the sand line and takes some time to cure. I put it under light pressure overnight. You can also use it to tack a wire down, insulate a bolt head, etc. Best of all it's available everywhere and is cheap. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Props From: "Richard Parker" Date: Tue, 11 May 1999 11:16:19 PDT X-Message-Number: 5 When you buy a new prop do you get any type of Data sheet with them that has performance curves? thrust vs rpm, etc, Rich Parker richontheroad@hotmail.com http://top.monad.net/~theparkers/kr.htm Jaffrey, NH _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. From: "Steve Glover" Date: Tue, 11 May 1999 20:28:28 X-Message-Number: 10 I have a 1776 cc VW engine with a Zenith from GPASC. It fixed my idling problem great! But, when I advance the throttle from idle it cuts out before it will increase RPM's. I can only give it about half throttle before it starts to cut out again. At full throttle it is cutting out rather severly. If I turn on the fuel pump it runs even worse. I just don't get it...when I cut the fuel it actually runs a bit smoother before it dies from fuel starvation. Am I getting too much fuel??? I talked to Steve at Great Plains last week but haven't had a chance to call him again for help. Does anybody have any idea what I should do to fix this mess??? Once this is corrected, I just need to finish rigging my controls and can start taxi/flight testing. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! When the engine is running rough is black smoke coming out of the exhaust? Are you plugs fouled with black carbon like powder? Are you using an air filter or airbox that could be acting like a choke (no flowing enough air). -- zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Micheal Mims Ailerons almost done! http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Hangar/4136/ Aliso Viejo CA Give Blood, Play Hockey! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: June Kitplanes From: ejanssen@chipsnet.com (Ed Janssen) Date: Tue, 11 May 1999 23:58:28 -0500 X-Message-Number: 15 This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0020_01BE9C0A.2A061400 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Did everyone catch the picture of Dave Christensen, his KR-2, and = Jeanette Rand in current June Kitplanes, page 19?
