Hello Ross and all KR's members,

Thank you for the welcome message and those 28 e-mails received for the first day !
You are the most active one I've ever subscribed.  Any way, I appreciate and promise to follow the rules to join the KR-net.

Allow me to introduce myself a bit.  I'm a thai private pilot 43 yrs. young - single engine land / sea and also a private helicopter pilot licensed. I have some kit planes here -a Flightstar II, a Rans S-10, a Searey and a Mini- 500.  However, I only currently fly my Flightstar and once in a while fly my uncle's Cessna-206. The Rans has been completely assembled over a year but I only tested it once. There were a few adjustments I'll have to do with it but since I left the plane for a long time then I'll have to recheck every systems again. The Searey had an accident (nose down in the water on a high speed taxi) on my 14th test flight 2 months ago, left me a lot job to fix.  The Mini-500 is 95% completed but I decided to do nothing further until I know for sure what the proper modification should be.  It's a shame that I didn't build all those planes myself
( I only did 10% - 15% of each plane).  Any way, you can see that I love flying !  Almost forgot that I also have one power-parachute as well.

I'm thinking to build a KR-2S for my next project as I'm looking for a fast and economy plane for my x-country.  I've done some researches about the KRs and went through many web-sites of yours that I admire very much.  The only big problem that slow down my plan to build the KR is the economy problem that I've been through during the past 2 yrs. (now still on the after shock stage).  Other than that consider to be minor problems.

At any chance you come by this region of the world, please let me know.  I'll be happy to meet, assist or go fly together if the time is available.

One question  I'd like know is that  Did anyone put a Rotax 912 on a KR-2 ? or does anyone thinking to do so ? I  have one Rotax -912  just like new (only 5 hrs.) and a set of pistons to power up to 95 hp!  ready for my new KR project!  Is it possible ? Could it be done ?

Happy Flying and Perfect Landings !

Neil  (GMT+7)

Another tip for surface finishing originated by Aussie catamaran builders. Evidently they use a fairing compound that is applied with a V toothed trowel. After hardenned, the ridges of the fairing compound are long board sanded to a fair surface (the idea is you are sanding 1/2 the amount of a solid layer of filler). Then, the grooved surface is filled to peak and finish sanded to produce the final surface for sealer, primer and paint. Details of this process were reported in the book Boatbuilding with Baltek Durakore (same stuff as Aerocore used in the Pond Racer).
