I think that heating the spring steel over this temperature permits to drill the holes easily using a normal bit (see Tony Bingelis' books for some practical advices about heating the steel). I will sell the 1835 firewall forward for $3500 plus shipping and also throw in all my spare parts. I have a 1600 that came out of a car that still runs, good for spar parts, the original heads off the 1835 that are new, a wood ground adjustable prop that adjusts from 30 to 60 in pitch and a spinner for it too. Upon inspection of the firewall I had noticed that when the engine leaked oil, while I was first taxi testing the oil got behind the lower motor mounts and the bracket that holds the nose gear strut to the firewall in turn contaminating the wood and making it soft causing the bolts to come loose. I suggest when bolting anything to the firewall use silicone or something to seal it to keep the oil from getting behind the brackets and seeping into the wood. Since Ross is off line while making his move to Phoenix, I finally sharpened my Net Admin sword and went in to do battle with the Lyris admin software. I finally got my Lyris account straightened out so I can approve new members again. So, for the 19 new members that were approved onto the KRNet this evening, first I'd like to apologize for the delay in approval as some of you have been waiting for weeks. Secondly, welcome to the KR-Net. For all the KRNet members, Please note that Ross recently changed the addressing so if you hit the reply button, you will reply directly to the person that made the post and not to everyone. If you want everyone to see your post, include the address "kr-net@telelists.com". mailto:kr-net@telelists.com "Net Mom" Jeff Scott - Los Alamos, NM mailto:jscott.pilot@juno.com See N1213w construction and first flight at http://www.thuntek.net/~jeb/krjeff.htm ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Email From: "Mel Poradun" Date: Wed, 27 Oct 1999 21:08:28 -0700 X-Message-Number: 8 Help: I am not getting any mail from the KR-net. On some lists, you can alter your list-settings to get or not get your own posts by sending e-mails to majoprdomo, but I don't know how to do that on this list, so I'd appreciate it if you can fix it. This is not a major problem, but I like to get a copy of my own posts on a list or I'm never quite sure it actually went out (plus I forget what I said!)
