KR2 project for sale ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: tee nuts From: "Oscar Zuniga" Date: Fri, 26 Nov 1999 14:32:25 PST X-Message-Number: 1 Hello, netters In using some nutplates on my project, I noticed that they have been made "locking" simply by having the end of the threaded barrel slightly squeezed together, which makes the screw go in tightly and not want to vibrate loose. Since I'm using hardware-store tee nuts in several non-structural places around my airplane (such as upholstery attachments, etc.) and noticed that they fit relatively loosely on the screws, I did the same thing to the barrels of my tee nuts and it works to make them "locking". Of course you could use Loct*te, but that would be too easy ;o) Oscar Zuniga Medford, Oregon mailto: taildrags@hotmail.com website at http://www.geocities.com/taildrags/ ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: RE: that damn virus From: "Eduardo Iglesias" Date: Fri, 26 Nov 1999 19:52:47 -0300 X-Message-Number: 2 Christopher: I hope this will useful for your virus problem Netters: It is possible that the virus checkers will not catch this "worm" and that is what it is. If your virus killer is running in the background or if you are on a schedule check you may be ok. If not, then thru the following address you can check to see if you are still infected. the address is long, here it is. http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/happy99.worm.html also If you want, I can Email the net the manual way to do it. I cleared mine the manual way. I hope the catch the guy that brought this misery on us. But it is old and it is everwhere. just be careful about opening exe files. DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS MESSAGE, send your questions about this plane to: bgomm@earthlink.net not to the KRNET as Bruce is not on the KRNet. By the way this sounds like a great deal! I have a KR-2 project for sale. I tried to sell this on the net last year for $4500. This year I am looking for $3000 and I have more done than last year. The specifics are as follows: Standard KR-2 with all standard dimensions that was started in the 80’s by the previous owner. All the wood parts are built including the spars. The tail surfaces are complete except for finishing. The main spars are installed and the wing attach fittings are installed on all of them. The flaps are built according to plans and are complete.I built the seat bottoms like Jeb did and installed them. The seat back is fiberglass and is hinged foreword to provide access to a baggage compartment. All controls are complete and installed. I am using the push rod under the seat like a lot of guys are now. I have Cleveland wheels and brakes installed on the Diehl tri gear mains. I do not have the nose gear.I have the foreword deck and fuel tank built and the tank is ready nearly ready to close. I have a carbon fiber instrument panel built and partially installed. I built the canopy frame out of carbon fiber per everybody’s suggestion. The basic structure is built but it is not attached and the plexi glass is not permanently bonded. I was going to try to do the foreword sliding like to area 51 bird but it could also be foreword or sideways hinged. The rear deck is built but I did it in a hurry this fall and need work. The engine is a Revmaster 1834 that has 5 hours TT. It has dual Bendix mags and a posi carb and no exhaust system or starter. It has a 54X36 prop that will probably not work on a KR-2. I have misc. instruments including a airspeed indicator, turn and bank, oil temp and press., and amp meter. It will also include many misc. parts including; AN nuts and bolts, several pieces of aluminum, several pieces of spruce and ply, fiberglass, epoxy, flox, micro, foam, mag switch, the old retractable gear, a stand, and some more stuff that I can not think of. The reason that I am selling is that I found a good deal on a completed plane and I need the cash. I do not really want to sell it but I really want a flying airplane. I would consider separating the engine out and selling for $2000. I have several JPEG pictures I can send to anyone interested. I am located just south of Des Moines, IA.
