There is a nice arrangement in Tony Bingelis' books on "A Builder's Handbook". He has a set of books for home builders out. You need to get them to begin building. It will age especially is a system where their is a small volume which is not moving around much. You will notice the color change to orange or even clear, and it can get thick. You should drain, refill and bleed your system. From: "Ken Jordan" Date: Tue, 28 Dec 1999 21:8:21 X-Message-Number: 10 Found two 500' spools of 3/32" galvanized 7X7 aircraft control cable at a surplus metal yard today. They also had 1/16" and 1/8". The price for 3/32" was $35 per spool, which would rig about 7 KRs. If there is enough interest I'll buy a spool and split the cost with six others. Youngblood" Date: Tue, 28 Dec 1999 22:14:43 +0000 X-Message-Number: 11 Hello KR-netters. I have setup a deal with amazon.com where any purchases you make through the KR-net website supports KR-net. I have setup a "bookstore" web link on the krnet.org website or you can go there directly by clicking on http://www.krnet.org/bookstore/bookstore.htm If you know of a good book that should be listed let me know, if it is available via amazon.com I will add the link, otherwise I will list that it is available via Wicks or Aircraft Spruce as I did for "Moldless Composite Homebuilt Sandwich Aircraft Construction" I have Vaughn Askue's Flight Testing Homebuilt Aircraft book listed as well, so if you have been looking for that one, it is listed there. I will be adding titles after I complete my search of the KR-net archives for books mentioned on the 'net. -- Regards Ross ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Bookstore Link From: "Ross R. Youngblood" Date: Tue, 28 Dec 1999 23:55:04 +0000 X-Message-Number: 12 I have completed sifting through the KR-net archives over the past two years looking for the keywords "book and books". I have added all the books that are available on Amazon.com. If you use the KRnet bookstore link http://www.krnet.org/bookstore/bookstore.htm You can search, look at KR-net recommended books, or jump to Amazon.com. Anytime you make a purchase by going to Amazon.com via the krnet links kr-net gets a small percentage (up to 5%). This may well be enough to make KR-net an eternally "free" internet service, but we shall see. -- Regards Ross ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: KR-2s in New Jersey area. Help please! From: "Matt Fulks" Date: Tue, 28 Dec 1999 23:24:32 X-Message-Number: 13 Hello, I'm new to the KR net. I am interested in getting my first homebuilt airplane. I've done a lot of research on the KR-2 and KR-2S. It looks like a good inexpensive plane to build. However, my wife and I are both 6'1" tall and I hear that we may be cramped in there or our heads might be against the canopy. I hear different things from different people. I would like to just see for myself what I think. If there is anybody in the central New Jersey area that has a KR-2 or KR-2S that I could look at and sit in the cockpit, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
