A guy out west had one in a -2 and would cruise about 130. I paid $2000 6 years ago for my mid time engine and deceided to go through it as it has sat for so long. I've got another $2000 in the crankcase and the cyl. are at the shop. But you get the idea where this is going. The lightest Lycoming starter I know is the Skytek at 7.2 lbs and several hundred dollars. An A65 starter costs less but weighs more. You won't find a battery that will turn either starter that weighs less than 10 lbs. So the cheapest Bingelis generatorless system you could put together would weigh 14 lbs MORE than the chainsaw starter. And what do you use that big battery for when you aren't starting the engine? Running the radio. Use a handheld radio or a smaller battery to run a panel mount radio and save even more weight. Saving weight means everything to the performance of these aircraft. The web is a tumultuous place, and these guys come and go overnight, taking your web site with them! I'm on a digital photography list where most of the folks had their high resolution photos and "how-to" web sites on PhotoPoint. Im sure this info will help him in deciding if for sure he will start building one. As for me, im quit happy with the three KR projects I now have. Of course they are all getting fit with Corvairs, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, if you will please send me your request again, I will try and send = it to you direct. Just be sure and tell me which version of MS Flight = Sim you have, 98 or 2k. I don't have it for 2k2 yet, but the 2k version = might work in 2k2, I don't know yet, try it if you want. Now, I will have to assume that those who installed it have found it = working like it is supposed to. But if your having trouble with it, let = me know. I'll try to help. I have been flying MS Flight Sims for a long time now (several = hundreds of hours), and I'm also a licenced pilot and I find the Sims = are an excellant way to stay sharp and learn things about flying. By the = way, "MS FS 2k2 Pro" is really the best yet. Get it if you can. Now, about the kr2s model in Flight Sim, It's not a "Dream Fleet" = model but it is, (I think) a good model to start out with and it looks = like a KR2S and hey! it's free. I have flown it several times on the = computer and it seems to respond in a manner that I have heard many KR = pilots describe there flights. You can't see your wings out to the side yet and it may not have the = panel set up the way yours is but, you can change that by going to = www.cfgedit.com and downloading there freeware so you can play around = and set it up the way you want it. It doesn't have a virtual cockpit for = scanning back and forth. It also has a three bladed prop (which I think = needs to be changed, maybe later) but hey, you can't tell it's a three = bladed prop when your flying. And, (I mean this in a friendly manner) If you can't feel the G = forces, get yourself a Microsoft "Sidewinder" joystick with "G force" or = maybe just fall out of your chair once in a while, it's cheaper. The very best thing about Flight Simming is that, if you try, it will = teach you to fly by the "Instruments" and scanning and thats the very = best way for any pilot to fly. Well, there coming to put me back in my room for the night now, catch = you later. In most = cases, you have to dial "011' to begin a call to a foreign country. But = there are locations outside the U.S. whose telephone numbers may look = like domestic long-distance calls, but they are actually international = calls and international rates apply. For example, 809, 284 and 876 are = area codes in the Caribbean. There are many scams that deceive consumers = into calling international numbers. You may see an ad for a service that = directs you to call a specific number, or you may receive a page, an = e-mail message or an 'urgent" message on your answering machine. All = messages direct you to call a number for more information - almost = always an international number.=20 Defense: =20 Be cautious about area codes you don't recognize. Check your telephone = directory or call the operator to determine where the area code is = before making your call. Control access to your telephone so = unauthorized callers do not use your phone to call these services. A = block on calls to "900" services will not stop calls to "011" or "809" = numbers. If you're sure you won't need to make international calls, call = your long-distance carrier and ask them to put an international block on = your telephone line.=20 Call Forwarding Scam You may receive an automated message on your = telephone that says you have won a prize or money. The message directs = you to dial a 2-digit code preceded or followed by the * or # key (such = as *79 or 72#), and then an 800 number to claim your prize. When you = dial the number, you are not connected to anyone. What this procedure = has done, though, is program your telephone to forward your calls to a = long distance operator. Con artists can then call your number, be = forwarded to the long-distance operator and place calls that are billed = to your home telephone number.=20 Defense: =20 If you receive this type of call, simply hang up. If you receive this = message on your answering machine, do not place this call. No legitimate = sweepstakes or contest would likely contact you in this manner. Know the = numbers used for Call Forwarding from your local telephone company.=20 =20 ----- Original Message -----=20 From: "Rod Kelso" To: "Ken" ; "Katie" ; "Julie" = ; "Corvaircraft" ; "Wayne" = ; "KRnet" ; "Karen" = Sent: Saturday, March 16, 2002 11:19 PM Subject: KR> Fw: Area code 809 scam/DELLA >=20 >=20 > ---------- > From: Shari > To:Rod Kelso > Subject: Fw: Area code 809 scam/DELLA > Date: Saturday, March 16, 2002 6:44 PM >=20 >=20 >=20 > Subject: FW: Area code 809 scam >=20 >=20 > > FYI > > > > > > > MAJOR SCAM > > > > > > THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION PROVIDED BY AT&T. > > > > > > DON'T EVER DIAL AREA CODE 809 > > > > > > This one is being distributed all over the US.
