Does Ed's canopy seem to be perfectly = round on the top compared to a Dragonfly that seems flatter? Would that = not give the Dragonfly canopy more effective headroom for the same total = heigth? From the photos of Ed's it appears to be a similar shape to the = original KR2 canopy. Although the pictures could be fooling me. The = price is nice for Ed's canopy but before shelling out money I want to = check the interior comfort for my nogin. Ill spend many hour in this = thing and I dont want a crick in my neck. INFO? Does anybody have a Dragonfly canopy for sale in case I decide to go = that route? Message-ID: Hey, it may not be Friday but it's still the weekend so here goes. Today was a big day in ye ol airplane factory. I mounted an aileron to the left wing. In the process I built up the two pushrods and mounted the bellcrank assembly inside the wing. I can now push on the pushrod and the aileron moves!! I can make airplane noises now and envision a nice little roll to the left!!! This week, build the flaps so I can land this thing after all these rolls:-) http://rvflying.tripod.com/aileron.jpg I still have to pop the aileron off and install the gap seal. This seal goes at a 45 from the aft top of the skin (just forward of where you see the aileron nearly touching the skin) in the holes you see. It then rivets to the aft side of the rear spar. Message-ID: HI KR1 builders. I own a Taylor Mono plane which i believe is identical to the KR1 except I have a constant chord wing. My bird has a C65 on it and weights 625# empty. On its maiden taxi after 15 years of storage it ground looped and nosed over breaking its prop and my dreams of flight this summer. It has a forward C of G of 15% MAC or 7.44" of the RAF 48" chord (100# pilot and 36# of fuel on the nose), Aft c of g is 25% MAC or 12" of the RAF 48" chord. The tail wheel with 36# fuel on the nose and 200# pilot is only 40 some lbs. I now know this is too light as 8-10% is rule of thumb. I'm in the middle of moving the landing gear forward BUT: I'm starting to questions the C of G and whether it is acceptable or maybe I should be consider other options than moving the mains and maybe simply pull the engine and put a lighter engine on? Any help would be greatly appreciated. One idea is put the bird on tri gear with the mains aft of the c of g maybe able to narrow up the cofg range? A local builder just did this on a KR2 adding only 7# for the nose gear. Darren Pond CF-VML Taylor Mono plane almost flying.
