To what degree, I am not really sure. If and when you remove the retracts, close up any floor holes by laminating in new plywood. The fixed gear mounting brackets are installed outside the fuselage on the main spar. Mount on the rear if tri-gear and on the front if tail dragger. The outer edge of the gear mounting brackets on mine are 9 1/2 inches from the outer edge of the main center spar. As far as resale value goes, I would think anything other than the stock retracts would have a higher value and would be easier to sell. Just remember though, the KR airplane does not have a great resale value period. A lot of people never get what they have invested when they sell out. I'll try to describe them to you in place of a picture. dimensions are approximate. Start with a a square piece of metal 4 inches on one side and the vertical dimension of the rear spar on the other. You will cut this to a triangle shape with one 90 degree angle. (draw this square on paper and trace out the bracket as you read the following) The bracket is straight along the spar side- 90 degree angle- straight along the 4 inch side- make a 1 inch radius and straight line back to the corner that you started in. Cut some 3/4 inch X (spar dimension) strips to weld at a 90 degree angle as mounting brackets to the spar. Add a gusset or two to stiffen the bracket and then drill the bracket full of holes to remove excess metal. Make four brackets. I mounted the brackets to the forward side of the rear spar with two 3/16 inch bolts, one through the center of each spar cap. Back with at least a wood washer or small backing plate. Placing the 90 angle at the bottom edge of the spar will help the bracket better clear the bottom of whatever type of seat you install. Your results may vary. :-) Clear as mud????
