Smooth Prime is one of the best and highest rated for composite use. Excellent filling properties and has UV protection. > Second , what is the best way to repair a damaged trailing edge, (minor on > the corner of the elv.) A good mixture of flox should cure all of your woes. Remove the damaged area, fill with flox, clamp a nice flat surface to both top and bottom (be sure to cover flox with wax paper first or put duct tape on the clamping surface to prevent it from sticking) and let it cure. Then you can remove the clamped surfaces and prime and paint. Good as new. > And last (for now) is there any problem with using toe brakes? Toe brakes are the only way to go. As a bit of a photographer, I can tell you that red and black are almost the same thing as far as black and white film is concerned, so you're right that they're about the same. The KR manual has a color vs temp chart near the back, right? Seems I pitched mine when I figured I have to remeasure everything anyway:-) I don't have #90 of page 19%7#9^. The only reason I am looking for this is there are a lot of solid red RVs and my thoughts on a gloss jet black with gold trim can't be much different than red. You can go to my website and look at misc. link of the pictures of my Bonanza. I am planning on replacing that blue fuselage strip with gold and tranposing it onto the RV. Gold wingtips, horizontal stab tips and vertical stab tips. Just looking for a chart, if anyone knows where one's at. Metal doesn't care much about small temp rises. The epoxy on your KR will significantly change strength between 75° and 115° (which is not uncommon under dark paint). In model airplanes we save wt by omitting paint, but have found that the unpainted CF spars get quite warm and now the spars are often painted white for thermal/strength reasons. The KR is really a wood plane carrying a composite overcoat, so you may be ok, but be aware of the consequences of what you're doing and maybe try some samples and measure just how much hotter the dark paint gets. --TR --- Dana Overall wrote: > > The only reason I am looking for this is there are a lot of > solid red RVs > and my thoughts on a gloss jet black with gold trim can't be > much different > than red.
