The LEGS are cut so that they extend forward from the mount but I'm not sure what that angle is. I would GUESS it to be about 15 to 20 degrees. Hope this helps. Yes, laser cutting will affect the temper. They will need to be heat treated to return them to "condition N". I would imagine you could find a bunch of guys who'd want to go in on that deal with you. That might make it a little cheaper for you, or if that's a lot of trouble for you (and I know for a fact that it will be), you could get the laser shop (or heat treater) to ship out sets to folks. Message-ID: My airport FBO has decided that everyone with a hanger needed to increase the insurance policy to have a $1M umbrella. After inquiring with my insurance company USAA ,they desided to drop my insurance policy. They told me that if I had a RV they would keep me. I am not having much luck gettting any feedback from other insurance compaines. I do not want to lose my hanger and end up parked outside and flying uninsured. The airport authority is insisting I get this policy now!! Could any of you insured KR pilots give me the contact information for your insurance company? Jeff York Lexington, KY. Very good to work with and worth contacting. He is big in "sport aviation". If anyone can help I'm sure he can. I've not had a single problem in five years dealings with these people. Check EAA and AVEMCO. I think there is at least one more who covers aircraft; possibly two. I was with USAA for 27 years. Had both my home and auto insurance through them. When I replaced my 1995 Dodge Neon with my 2001 Ford Cobra, that and my 1996 Dodge pickup were going to cost me $1900 a year just for auto insurance. I did a little shopping and found Progressive got the vehicles insured for $1100 a year. I don't know if they can place aircraft insurance, but it's worth checking out. Also, you might talk with your local insurance agent (any AGENCY; not a "company" as they are two different entities) and ask who places aircraft insurance. Hope this helps. You know, USAA used to be a great insurance agency but of late, they've really gone down hill. And that is my personal opinion. I had Steve Bennett's prototype caliper setup on my KR. They were small, light but very effective. Great for a KR. Check out his Great Plains site.
