I had exactly the same problem in my zenair zodiac fitted with a revmaster, cheers warren New Zealand p.s. I have just purchased a KR2 which requires finishing. If I increase the throttle the rpm cuts back to 2500 and then gradually increases to max. I have checked the throttle slide position and confirm that the slide is 2/3 open. The carb is a Bing type (AMAL concentric) with the cylindrical slide. Mixture and timing are OK . Main jet size doesn't seem to alter it. I found some air leaks in the inlet manifold welds which I fixed and this improved things a bit. Magneto and harness have been serviced and rig tested OK. Would appreciate any suggestions (clean ones!) Well, he is doing just that by making my tanks for me. These tanks will go in the outboard wings and hold approximately 12 gallons each. I originally had drawn up tanks which held 13.14 gallons per Mark Langford's calculations. Theses tanks were shortened by one inch from original drawings. I must say Dana has done an excellent job in fabricating these tanks. He estimates a total of seven hours to complete the tanks. Check the escribe archive at http://www.escribe.com/aviation/krnet/ and you won't see it there, because it didn't come through the list. It came from some idiot who doesn't have an antivirus program, and was stupid enough to open it. It searched through his messages, found one from you, copied the first few lines, attached somebody else's return address to it, and sent it to everybody in his address book. I heard about this one from somebody else that recieved it, but trust me, it did NOT come through the list, and it did NOT come from whoever it SAYS it came from! I probably would have received it to, but it probably went to my OLD email address. Still spam free... (Remember, running-in is usually done with a lower grade of oil to enhance bedding in of the components. That WILL generate more heat) - Are you SURE that the baffles are still sealing properly around the engine. A leak could maybe result in warm air not leaving the FWF are. Y= ou stated that the new fins are of a different design (and supposedly more efficient). Is the cooling air still forced THROUGH the fins. - I am not a pro on this topic, but if you increased your hp by, say 20 percent, then the engine should produce 20 percent more heat. IF your previous installation was marginally adequate, leaving a safety factor o= f say 5 percent, then the mentioned 20 percent will be 20 - 5 =3D 15 percen= t too small. But 15 percent =3D 3 x 5 (safety margin), thus giving a safety mar= gin deficiency of 3 times what you had. That means that the heat produced by three quaters of your additional hp, is not leaving the engine. (Still, could that result in the very rapid increase of temps?) - Are you sure the oil cooler is OK? Now I have confused myself. I would LOVE to come and see your installation. I promise to keep silent. Cheers. JC Marais South Africa jcmarais@intekom.co.za Tel: (+27)12 - 660-1463 (a/h) Cell phone : 082-401-5259 ----- Original Message -----=20 From: "S.F.
