First glue some left over foam blocks cut to a 45 in pieces to the space between the wing and the side. Next use a coke or pepsi can wrapped with glued on sand paper and sand your fillet about 2/3 the way back on the wing. Next use a coffee can covered with sand paper and sand your fillet the rest of the way. By the way, the coffee can serves as the guide for the very back trailing edge of the wing to side too. Make sure you work out the coke can vs. coffee can difference and fair that in. Micro the result, fill anything you need to and add a layer of fiberglass. This is a one afternoon job. The bottom was all coke can to the rear. I read in the archives (i believe it was Mark Langford) who said with some discussed "if he'd do it again he'd just slop some micro in the corner and sand a radious and that would be it". My question is how thick can I go with the micro before i need to start worying about cracks or pulling away from the fusalage. otherwise my thought is to foam and fiberglass the fillet, keping the top of the radious 1/4" below the bottom of the fusalage to give the fiberglass somthing to stick to, then create the rest of the fillet with micro. Thanks for your help. I underst= and that you do not really have to fillet the bottom, only the top. This is because the angle between the wing and fuselage on the top is less than 9= 0 degrees and the one on the bottom is greater than 90 degrees and how all that affects the compression of the air flow, which I really don't understand.=0D =0D I found that one of those foam noodles that children use to beat each oth= er up with, is a real nice form to wrap sand paper around for sanding. It might be too sharp a curve though. =0D =0D N64KR=0D =0D Daniel R. Colin, you are correct in your statement. Yes, an experimental aircraft could be used as transportation of the pilot for a qualified business trip. You, as a private pilot, could fly to airplane to a job site, see a client or look at potential property. No, you could not use it, or a certified aircraft, as a tool for revenue generation. Optimizing income and generating income are two different things. There are some really gray areas but there are also some black and white allowable uses aircraft in a business environment. Couple different scenerios: "I'll retain your company to go to Twin Oaks, CO to look at some property for me". "I'll pay your expenses to fly me to Twin Oaks, CO to look at some property", "Let's go to Twin Oaks, CO and go skiing, I'll share the airplane expenses", "Let's go to Twin Oaks, CO and go skiing, I'll pay the airplane expenses". In the second and fourth, you didn't receive compensation, you didn't generate income, did you do commercial work? did you just violate any 135 regs? Yes, Colin you can allow your experimental aircraft to be used for transition training. The CFI can charge for his time.
