There is plenty of room for all KRs and any other airplanes that may fly in for the gathering, on the ramp or in the hanger. In case of bad weather, that hanger is big enough for fly through. Not suggesting that any KR pilot would do anything like that or that Wayne would even allow it. But if it should happen I hope that video Bob catches the evidence. I've organized, I think, 5 of the Gatherings and helped with I can't remember how many. The key to a good Gathering is the commitment of the person responsible. I mean one person who will be responsible for everything. They will get help and they will also get let down. This person must pick up the slack and ensure the whole thing is done. I've found that the first year is tough and the second is not bad at all. We have a tradition of holding it in the same place for two years in a row because of the "learning curve." LARRY gets my nomination for next year but with that said, I don't know of anyone who wants to do it three years in a row. The reason it gets voted on at the Gathering, in my opinion, is that the people who attend are the people who attend. To place the Gathering in an area hoping others will show up is a lost cause. We may get some but if they really wanted to be there, they would have come to the Gathering for the last X or XX years the way most of us have. I've found that a person at the ending stage of building or just flying the KR is one of the best host's because they have the most enthusiasm for making it happen. I hope I don't offend anyone. Well, I've got to go back to work so I'll see you late Thursday in the car and then Friday morning in the old KR. The WannaBee is now back on her 3 legs, safe. The bottom is complete as is the cockpit, with the exception of safety wire on 5 turnbuckles after final adjustment, and the seat installation, which on our seats, is just putting them in. We put the battery in and since the electric turn coordinator is the only thing that will actually work right now, we turned it on and listened to it run, for a while. Funny how there is so much pleasure in simple things. Then we stood around and airplane worshiped for a while. We both think she is real pretty and can't wait to show her off. However, I will be sending out the disclaimers before next year's gathering. See you, some of you, on Thursday. Where would we have it. I certainly hope that he does want to do it again. I am promoting Grenada because I believe that the airport is great and because Wayne Williams will be committed to taking it all the way home. He also has a lot of experience doing things like this and is a KR builder. To show his support for the gathering, he is attending this year. I promoted Grenada last year to be sure that we had a place to go. Now I am promoting it to be the next gathering after Mt. Vernon, whenever that is.
