I would suggest that you add a pair of check valves at the 1/8" Tee. The way you have the system plumed a leak in either side will allow fuel to run overboard rather than to the carb. If you install check valves at the carb then you can operate on one side regardless of the integrity of the opposite side fuel path. The Pumps go on the firewall and I really could not figure out what mix and match of parts to put together to get the fuel from a 3/8 pipe fitting on my filter to a 1/8 pipe fitting on my carburetor. The goal was to never allow the volume to increase and have it split into the pumps and then brought back together at the carb. Well, apparently, no one on the net has done this, so I had to go elsewhere for help. They have very nice people at Wicks. Has anyone ever told you that before? I sent their customer support my request. Later that day, I was called by Janet to get some clarification. Later that week, I received a request for my fax number because David, of Wicks, had come up with a drawing for me. Well, I changed it a little and put it on paper with pictures and part numbers and passed it back by David. He saw no problem with it, so here it is. http://kr-builder.org/FirewallForward/index.html First PIC on the page, but you will need to click on it to be able to really see it. They are next to the registration forms, the "peoples choice" ballots, the KR aircraft registration sheet, the volunteer list, the list to track how many want to eat the Friday lunch, Friday dinner, and Saturday lunch buffets ($7.00 with a $.75 kickback to the Gathering fund), the Awards Banquet ticket sales, and one counter over from the map of the U.S. where attendees can put a map pin on their hometown so we know where everyone came from which is setting next to the schedule board which is setting next to the 20" X 30" picture of the three KR's in formation which is one counter over from the five award trophys which is just down the hall from the banquet room where we will have the forums and has the P.A system already set up. WHEEEEW! That sentence has more range than my KR. Anyway, the point is there are a lot of details and work to put on a Gathering and I spent most of today at the airport settig up but now the fun is about to begin. For you diehards that waded through all that, I talked to Scott Wick this evening. He will be at the Gathering Saturday and they intend to fly in the "Stinger" (I think that's right) which is a composit aircraft that will meet the Sport Pilot regulations. Go all the way to the end of this double lane section and when it turns to gravel the pavilion is just 50 yards or so down the gravel lane. Motor homes can park at the end of the asphalt leaving one lane open and park end to end. Or is it? I bought a new Lightspeed Twenty 2G right before SNF. They are pretty nice, but a funny blue color. The volume control/battery box was designed by a moron, however. The cover falls off continually, and the cheesy "fix" bracket that they fastened to it falls off even more! I have a matching pony tail band around it right now to hold it all together. Pretty sad for something that expensive. And they're all that way. I found a battery cover in the 172 I rented a few weeks ago. An even better deal is the ones that Gulf Coast Avionics (I think it is) sells that are something like last year's Lightspeeds (made by them), but with a cell phone/aux input (which mine has too, but cost $200 more). Doug Steen bought two of them at SNF, or maybe it was Dana, I forget. Quite a bargain. Doug's making noises like he may show up too. It ought to be another doozy! Those headsets may be on my head next time you see me, since Troy called today and asked if I wanted to fly out with him in his KR2. That's a hard deal to pass up in my book! The only problem with that is that I told some folks I'd bring my cowling molds, so that may have to wait. I asked my wife, "cowling molds, or fly Troy's KR to the Gathering?" She said "duuuuuuhhhhh", so blame her! Either way, I'd be there before dark on Thursday, earlier if I drive. If I fly in, I hope Ron Willett will be there. We'll need a ride! I have a new camera this year that ought to take some pretty nice air-to-air pictures, and Larry has arranged for another pilot to take me up in his Tripacer. You guys who haven't gotten any air-to-air shots yet need to meet up there for some photos. We're talking maybe late Friday or early Saturday. It wouldn't hurt to buy a little Tripacer fuel, but that's not mandatory either (I'll take up the slack if necessary). See you guys shortly! To: "'KRnet'" Message-ID: <000001c4a04d$7f4e9980$48db5540@jfaughn> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Hello All, This isn't Friday the 13th, it is for real. I've talked to Marti several times over the last month and for reasons he can explain, he is changing his primary hobby. He has purchased a large boat and now has his airplane for sale. No, I didn't stutter, it is FOR SALE. As of tonight, he has it listed in Trade a Plane but you have to have a password to look at the ad. He will be flying in on Friday and you can look it over then. So, I guess this may be the end of an era or at least a flying legend owning a KR. He is asking $17,000 and has 4 people already calling him. If you want his information prior to the fly-in, it is - Home phone 9186638112 cell phone 9186369984. Otherwise, look at the plane on anybody's KR website and determine if you want a piece of flying KR history or build your own. I know this isn't Friday but since it is Marti, I figured I'll take the heat. Take care and see you in a few days. If so I would like to see your plane, as it was featured in the Cuba Free Press some years ago when it was still being built.
