In the meanwhile you can view some engine installation pictures and a bit on miscellaneous other stuff at: http://www.bouyea.net Click the 2004 Gathering link on the home page to get started and click on any thumbnail to see a full size image. This was my first Gathering and it will not be my last! Thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge and experience. A couple of people have mentioned that carbon fiber interferes with radio signals. Any way to avoid this? Other thoughts? When I had time, I was planning on posting the design for everyone to use. The design is actually quite simple. This was the first gathering where I only attended on Saturday and left out on Sunday. I never drink the night before I fly so partying Saturday night was out of the question at the campsite. On the way over on Saturday I had to air file IFR to get through a weak cold front about 40 miles east of Evansville as a case in point. Anyway, sorry to the Canadian bunch who proclaimed there return from the banquet with a very loud and truly welcome "DANA, WE KNOW YOU'RE DOWN THERE" (Caps intended:-) followed by a single ship tent flyby where they got a call from the tent tower to "GO AWAY":-) If nothing else gang, this is why you attend the gathering. The planes are nice but remember, it's the people that make it great, the airplanes are just the icing on the cake. You can bet you bottom dollar we will be at the gathering next year no later than Friday for the informal Friday night forum. Gang, the camping area Larry had available was fantastic. Tent door opening to a great lake view, nice flat camping with a covered picnic table area along with 4-5 permanent grills................all except for those !#$%@$%^&% trains!! Back to the people. I was able to put so many faces to names it was truly wonderful. All those offers of accomodations when you get your KRs flying and I get "Black Magic" off the ground next hold true and we'll take ya up on it:-) So, on the soapbox..............before you flame somebody on the KRNet, just remember he/she just may be that person you end up sitting next to at the banquet and realize it was in fact you who was the @#$hole in the exchange and there really is a face to name. I showed the Dynon so much the 2.5 hour internal battery crapped out on Sunday morning:-) BTW, the single ship tent flyby obeyed the instructions form ATC to vacate the airspace:-) GREAT Gathering, thanks again Larry. When he left he signed off on my spars. We talked KR for two days and I got some great ideas now. When he took off at AUO he performed a low pass (go around) at almost full speed. Made the mechanics come out of the hanger. COOL. Now when I talk KR they will know....This KR on steroids is going to really get some attention now. The KR people are really a great bunch. To: krnet@mylist.net Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed Hello, I am new to this list. I have read thru the archives and done quite a bit of research on KR's. Unfortunately, I do not have the time or the place to build one. Does anyone know of a nice, already flying and airworthy KR-1 or KR-2 for sale. I am looking to spend around $10,000 maybe a little more for the right one located in the midwest. It does not have to be anything too fancy, just airworthy and fun to fly.
