WIth a 64 engine you have to use the 64 cylinders and heads together. They are smaller in circumfrence than the 65- heads. There is very little change in displacement. You can bore the 64 cylinder out .020 I believe. Now, you can use the 64 case, crank, with 65 cylinders and 65 heads. From what I got from William I believe that is right. If not - let me know. Right now I have a Prince P-tip (wood/composite) 52 x 50 And right now with wheel pants I just turned it 3900 rpm. After I put on my ram air nozzle I can expect it to go higher. As of now my top speed has increased to about 185 or so but that is just preliminary since ive only had one short flight with the wheel pants. I will be doing some climb and cruise tests shortly to get some hard numbers. I am looking for a prop with SAE1 pattern - for corvair. Hoping for something in the 54-54 arena. Maybe a couple inches longer and a little more pitch. Whatever might get me more speed. The climb performance is great right now - Ive had it a 14500 and still climbing. If you have something that might fit the bill - let Bill know - Thanks. ------------------------------ Message: 3 Date: Tue, 12 Oct 2004 20:48:12 -0700 From: "Lee Van Dyke" Subject: KR> Baffling, To: "KRnet" Message-ID: <007d01c4b0d7$889a0930$6701a8c0@SNAKEBITE> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" I purchased the Baffling kit from Great plaines "Steve Bennett". After seeing his plane I didn't have a lot of hope to what my baffling was going to look like. I cut one set of alum prior to going to the gathering and was not happy with the way it fit to the motor. After going to the gathering, and seeing other planes and how they fit their baffling, I was comfortable cutting and refitting a new set. I still used the basic templates from G/P's, but I fit them in a way that I feel will get me better results. If any body is interested in seeing photos e-mail me off line.
