That is...weighing right, left and tail independantly after leveling the aircraft? Can it be done this way? Just wondering about it. Still looking for single port intake manifolds for KR. However, you must make sure to block the main wheel and nose wheel if you have one, that is not on a scale, to the same height as the scale. Paul ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Yes, that will work justs fine providing you get the airplane releveled exactly each time. You will need to build some sort of pad to elevate the other main wheel to the same height as the scale. You should get exactly the same results, just a lot more hassle. I got very accurate numbers which matched the expensive airplane scale results. Has anybody tried successfully to do the W/B with ONE accurate bathroom >scale? The tail will be somewhere between -5 and +5. so you don't need much back there. ----- Original Message ----- From: To: "KRnet" Sent: Wednesday, December 15, 2004 8:04 AM Subject: RE: KR> Weight and Balance > Hi, all; > Has anybody tried successfully to do the W/B with ONE accurate > bathroom scale? I have one for a KR2 It comes firewall forward, Everything you need to hang it on the front of your KR. It includes a redrive no prop. The motor mount has the mounting for the nose wheel. This engine was running when it was pulled off. $3500 takes all. There are a few other items that will come with it. But if I was a Newby and wanted an engine for my potential KR2s project and I thought a Corvair engine would be a good choice, would I be wise to look for a 180 turbo? Or would a 110hp or other Corvair be just fine, considering I would have an engine builder go through it & build it to certain souped-up specs? Anybody?? If you go to http://www.krnet.org you will be at the entry point to a lot of the collective knowledge of this group and there you will find links to everything KR. Among the links is a link to the Archive search engine which will allow you to bone up most subjects including the Corvair engine. I'm sure others will give you shorter more direct answers to your questions, however this is your biggest self help tool. Welcome. Don't look, research and build. Start with the link to A Corvair Primer and continue from there. You may also want to invest in William Wynne's book. I think his website and book may save you a lot of money buying the wrong engine, expensive parts and paying an engine builder who may be great at building engines for cars but know nothing about aircraft.
