Do you have a web page showing your engine with the Scat Heads? Orma (and others) can check my progress on: http://kr-builder.org/ScottCable/index.html I'm still working on my header tank... Building CF Seat Frames.....Photos will be posted on the website listed above. I recently purchased a Industrial Grade sewing machine to do the interior work with.... But, I really haven't been afforded the time to do any KR work lately... I've been building a 2 stall Barn for our new TWH mare. Glad to hear that you're planning on Turbo-ing your KR. That should really liven your little bird up! Also take care of that Rate of Climb issue. Are you planning on increasing the area of the vertical stabilizer? That may make the bird a little easier to handle on takeoff roll, but may also affect crosswind takeoffs and landings.... Maybe I can get a ride with you at the Gathering this year? ===== Scott Cable KR-2S # 735 Wright City, MO s2cable1@yahoo.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Eventually, I will add details of my work in the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo Projects and of course the KR2X. Laine, one of our staff Architects is doing the web work, she is really good at this sort of thing, I think. The site will be reconfigured and made simpler to navigate in the near future. I have a lot of work to compile pics and text to bring the KR project up to present. Hope you guys have some fun with this. I'm trying to help out a local builder. His Stock KFM engine which I believe was originally made in Italy is giving him some trouble. Its been in a crate for 18 years as a kit plane. This spring he finished it but the engine will not build full static rpm and as a two stroke will not make it to the power band where its safe for take off. Any leads would be appreciated. I used the information on Mark L's web site and proceeded to make a Red mess. It was fun and the accuracy is amazing. I placed a few photo's on my web site. Just go to http://www.kr-2.aviation-mechanics.com/ and click the link to the CC-ing page. I forgot to mention on the page that if you click a photo it will get larger. As for the heads, they are within 1cc of each other. With a little grinding I can probably get them down to within .2 or .3 of each other. Thanks, I of course found 1 15/16" x 1 7/8" x 78" for the outside forward spar caps prior to tapering. I wrote, > >I have found dimension errors (I think). Mark wrote, > Oh, really? What looks like an error in my calculations for spar width is the fact the Center Spar of 2 5/32 plus the two 3/32 faces gives you 2 11/32 width between the WAFs. Now for the Outside forward spar cap. 1 15/16 plus the two 3/32 faces, plus the 1/4" for WAFs gives you a dimension 1/32 wider than the width between the WAFs for the center section. Maybe the bend in the Waf takes up for it? This brings me to another guess. The height of the end of the outside forward spar is equal to the height of the center section spar? I'm going cross eyed trying to figure this out. HELP!
