It stated, i think, Rand robinson or possibly the owners name, for acft registration number ------ only. It was dated recent, last 2 to 5 years, and looked like a military style pilots ops and procedures manual including emergency procedures, general acft stats and mfgs specs, and i downloaded it in open office of around 40 to 50 pages, i think. I kept it as an open window for a week untill i got a chance to review and decide how best to utilize it. My son did me a favor and deleted it . It was very important to me for my initial certification and flight test. My third engine run was saturday and other than an ADR review and airworthiness cert, this baby is ready for flight test if Steve Bennett would do me the honors, which i haven't even asked him yet. I want to first be well prepared and i thought this ops. man. was" the ticket" . If any one can recall such a link as to where this can be found, you help is greatly appreciated Thanks Keith ------------------------------ Message: 2 Date: Mon, 11 Apr 2005 01:04:36 -0700 (PDT) From: F Ross Subject: Re: KR> operating procedures To: KRnet Message-ID: <20050411080436.94555.qmail@web32015.mail.mud.yahoo.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii --- kwiese wrote: > Last week i found .... operating procedures > If any one can recall such a link as to where this > can be found, you help is greatly appreciated > Thanks > Keith Keith, Mark Langford's KRnet site at: http://www.krnet.org/ has several links to excellent sites. I also have a flight test summary report that I put together for presentation to the DAR when he was inspecting the plane, so that he would have an idea how I intended to flight test the plane. I would be glad to share them with anyone who asks off line and I will forward copies so Dan can add links to them on the site. This guy also owns a Rutan Varieze so is very conscious of weight, an issue for all of us KR2 builders. His sunshade is simply a piece of A4 size paper, laminated with plastic and a hole punched in the centre for a suction cap. He can place it anywhere on the screen or windows as the sun moves about, and it weighs next to nothing. I've been thinking about it, and this would be a perfect place to have any checklists etc, just make them on A4 and laminate them so they have a dual purpose. If you are coming and have not already done so please let me know. Linda Bennet has agreed to host the sign up list at the Great Plains booth again this year. Thank you again. You will need to sign up on the list by Thursday and put in your meal selection. Selection is Lasagna or steak. You can pay at the dinner, but I do need everyone to sign if you want to eat. If you can not sign up by Thursday or don't know if you will make it just give me a call. It will be at the same place as last year at the Holiday Inn at 3405 South Florida Avenue. Their number is 863-646-5731. I have the room at 6:30 and expect to eat at 7:00. If you don't have a ride there give me a call. I have had several people volunteer to give rides there and back. I can't make it there until Thursday this year because of work. I will have a barbecue at my camp site at about 6:30. Bring a folding chair if you have one. I will be right by the antique area again where I was last year. Just follow the woods line by the antiques and I will have some kind of sign so you can find us. Everyone is welcome to come by after the night air show Saturday also. My cell phone number is 904-536-1780 and my direct email is brian@engalt.com. I will have my laptop with me and will check my email at least once or twice a day there. Also, the layout is for being able to fold them, and then laminate them for long lasting. Office depot charges $1 per page so for $2 you have checklists to last a lifetime. Also, little trick I learned in my flight training: fold the pages first, then go have them laminated. The new laminate will follow the folds and make it much easier to fold them after laminated, then if you leave them straight and then try to fold them afterwards. Then store them in your map pouch so that they are always in the plane. Fly Safe! I incorrectly stated that the dinner will be at the same place as last year. Turns out that I had two different contracts for last year, one for the Holiday Inn South and one for Holiday Inn North. Also turns out that both of them have a Parker Room to make things really confusing. Anyway, this year it is at the Holiday Inn South, not North like last year. South is a little closer to the Airport. Address is correct at 3405 South Florida Ave and phone number is 863-646-5731. Sorry for the confusion. Since I will not be getting to SNF until Wednesday I would very much appreciate it if anyone flying a KR there could tape a note to your prop giving the time and location of the dinner and letting people know to sign up at the Great Plains booth. There are a lot of KR people that still do not have email and that is the sure way to catch them. ________________________________________________________________ Sent via the WebMail system at mail.engalt.com ------------------------------ Message: 9 Date: Mon, 11 Apr 2005 15:09:35 -0400 From: Subject: KR> KR for sale To: Message-ID: <20050411190935.ZHWU13819.fed1rmmtao12.cox.net@smtp.west.cox.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Netters; Les Palmer, innovator and KR experimenter, recently had a stroke and is no longer able to fly his KR-2S. This is one beautiful KR, or at least it was five or six years ago when I saw it last. There are some pictures of it that I took in 1996 at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/klesterp.html . It is set up as a one place plane because Les is a big guy. The EJ-22 is a newer engine than the Soob in the photos. Les also makes a lot of KR spare parts, but I'm not sure he'd be willing or able to do that now... One change has to do with convenience of installation. I added a cutout to the area above the intakes to allow them to be installed without taking both sides of the baffle, around them, off of the engine. By having a separate piece just above each intake, I can just remove that piece and will be able to install and remove the intakes. I also changed the way I have always handled the routing of wires through the back of the baffle. I never liked the way the grommet worked, so I made up a new way. I like it a lot better. It is heavier and much more complicated. I also added a bulkhead fitting for the oil breather to be attached to, so it will not actually pass through the baffle, and am adding 3 air cooling hose attachments to the back and underside of the baffle. One for the gas filter, one for the Rectifier/????, and one for the cooling system for the coils. I am about finished with this project, so now, on to the spinner. The new pics start about half way down the thumbs. http://kr-builder.org/Baffeling/index.html See you in Mt. His gear legs where made from Grumman Yankee legs cut down a bit with 6:00X6 mains. It is standard KR2 width but set up as a single place. It was on the heavy side, 835 empty as I recall and that was before the engine upgrade. It sounded awesome with the smaller Sube engine but the performance ( takeoff and climb ) was less than spactular, hence the bigger engine. I recall Les trailering it to Columbia, Tennessee one year and had it flown to Perry, Oklahoma once or twice by a pilot named Smith. Les was building reduction drives for a while as well as props. Sorry to hear about his health problems. If someone on the net has a chance to talk to Les, pass along our concern and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
