Oscar, I see no reason they couldn't. I'd say if it's a solid sheet ground plane they couldn't see each other and that may be the best. If it's simply radial type of ground plane, then they may if the frequency bands are close. The question then becomes one of "feeding" the active elements on the common ground plane if it's a solid sheet since the coax usually is on the bottom side of the ground plane. Radials would be easier since there's a lot of open area for the coax's. You could also use a dipole setup for each one which would be the lightest. The com one could go in the vertical stab and the ELT one could go along the fuselage or some such. I'm having a problem with some of the pictures and navigation bars but you will get the picture. http://jackandsandycooper.com/canopy.html I have ordered and received a can of spray-lat ( at least I hope that is what is in the can) from wicks but the can arrived with no markings and no instructions. I would assume it is sprayed on at full strength but do I use high pressure or HVLP. I do have plenty Plexiglass to practice on. To: krnet@mylist.net Message-ID: <1ab.3aa0111f.2fef1559@aol.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" The 52 X 54 Prince just came out of refinishing from Prince Co. It the grey wood/composite prop with the swept tips. The tips are also called antivortex tips which quieten the prop and make it more efficient. It works very well on my Corvair but also has VW hole pattern. Static with the Corvair is 3100 and 3600 in flight. I get around 180mph on it. The fact is that I have too many props and William Wyyne has asked me to prototype the new Sensnich line for him so I will be using the Sensnich for a time to come. The Prince is a great prop and I would have no qualms about flying behind it for many hours to come. The spinner is a 10" composite spinner with rear plate and front bulkhead - unfinished but cut for the prop. I am asking $550 for it - I had just spent 300 on getting is refurbished. The cash will help me get a comm for my plane - I have still been borrowing a handheld and want to upgrade!. Let me know if you are interested. That's easy enough. Make your own! I used a computer cable for one end of the cable, (so at least one end was "factory" perfect), shortened it and put a radio shack D-shell on it and ran it between the TRT250 and an off the shelf Ameri-King AK-350 encoder. If you need the schematic, send me your address and I'll throw it in the mail to you (it's 11x17 or I'd just pdf it)... I had made almost all of the little fixes that had been annoying me and fully adjusted the areocarb to the manual. The results were like night and day. The rpm's now drop down and idle smoothly as low as 550. Acceleration is smooth and very responsive. At 1800 it starts to pull pretty hard on the brakes. I taxied up to a buddy's hanger that I only found out was hangered near me when he came over after I drove in. He loaned me a hand held and sent me to the runway. Temp was about 93 deg and high humidity. The plane tracked straight and very nicely as long as I didn't fool with the pedals. I got it fast enough to see the airspeed indicator start to come up. Learned a few things about the brakes and rudder. Also the runway is a little rough. The nose wheel bounces pretty easily. Temps got pretty warm but not hot. Oil was around 205 deg., cylinder hd temps were in the 325 to 350 range. Fuel delivery was good. Volts were good. All the oil leaks are gone. Carb heat showed a 60 rpm drop. My cockpit is not loud at all. The NACA ducts on the side work great. I could actually survive with the canopy down in the heat. All and All a pretty orgasmic day! It has 207K miles and runs good but recently I have been over temping. I had the heater core replaced about 2 months ago and started having the problem shortly after. I have replaced the pressure cap, thermostat, fan clutch, removed the thermostat, flushed the radiator with a 10 min flush, replaced the water pump and removed the radiator and flushed it with a water hose. The radiator is only about 2 years old. I'm running out of ideals and money. Can anybody suggest something else to check prior to replacing the radiator. Good to hear you were doing taxi runs down the runway. I am sure you will be there doing it again tomorrow. This time, keep your speed under 50 mph and hold the nose wheel off the ground as you make that high speed run. You will really learn the handling characteristics by doing this and it will be the exact attitude you will be in when your wheels touch down on landing. The tri-gear KRvaircraft handles extremely good onnthe ground as well as in the air.
