To: krnet@mylist.net Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Hi all. Thanks, Mark for adding me to the list! So, folks, my name is Cristiano, 42 year old, writing from Rome, Italy. I fly an SG-Aviation Storm 280 SI, I own it together with two nice friends, but I want to start a homebuilding. I'll move to a new house in 2006, a huge garage available, and the dream could come true. I think I can do it and after all I'm going to discover it by myself! Then, my adventure is starting, decision has been taken for KR2S and my very little problem is... getting the plans! I faxed some questions to Rand Robinson but wasn't faxed back. I really hope that if I read on their site to "fax requests" it brings as a consequence that they are going to fax me back, but maybe I have missed something and won't blame anyone, I'm new to the game :-) Assuming I want to build the plane even if I received no response, how do I order the plans? Calling by phone is not a good idea. My english tends to... decay when I'm on the phone and writing is the best option, at the moment. So I could request the plans and send the money according to what's written in the KR site, but... how do I send it? As you may understand I'm in trouble starting the whole thing. Any help is welcome. Ciao! And > I'll keep flying, of > course. Hi Cris and welcome aboard! For me it is always nice to see people from other countries interested in the KR. It certainly is a "world community". Your English is fine! If you cannot build for six months then what you should do, is study the plans you will recieve. Buy the 4 book set by Tony Bingelis available from Aircraft Spruce. Read, and study, over and over the building sites listed on KRNET. I must have read Mark Lankfords site 500 times by now. That goes for all of the builder sites, and I keep reading them, because some of them keep getting updated. Then as I start to build the next phase, the light bulb in my head starts to come on, and I understand why this guy did this, and this guy did that. Then I can choose the best method for me. Of course as you study question will arise, the KRNET ARCHIVES are the best way to get questions answered any given subject. Good luck on your project, and as I always say, "Start building as soon as you can, it will be the most fun you will ever have in your life." Of course I have never flown a Kr and I'm sure that beats building!!! Finally I found myphotoalbum.com thanks to Jaco Swanepole. It costs ten dollars a year and you get unlimited hi res photo storage with comments. It is limited in some functions, such as links. At least I don't know if you can have links or not, maybe you can and I just don't know how to set it up. It always loads fast and it has GREAT resolution. One thing that kinda bites about some sites is that the photos are so low res that you can't make out the details. I learn alot about building by the photos. I think the site is great and it is a very small learning curve. Also it is ten dollar a year if you never order pictures. If you order pics then there is no fee. Builders will probably want photos for their Logs anyway. ------------------------------ Message: 20 Date: Wed, 3 Aug 2005 17:27:56 -0700 (PDT) From: Ron Smith Subject: Re: KR> I thought I was the only one having problems with Mark J's site To: KRnet Message-ID: <20050804002756.46355.qmail@web81702.mail.yahoo.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 BTW I forgot to add this. If you go to my site or Jaco's and select a photo from an album, and then click on that photo it will zoom in and give you great detail. Try this: Go to my site, click the photos of my beinging wood work and check out the tight joints ; ) by zooming in!!! Most will be staying at the Holiday Inn. That is where the majority stayed last year plus they have a couple of pretty good bars.............could be more stories to develop this year..............wouldn't it be great to get in the middle of another bachelorette party....but that is another story all in itself....... I have web hosting through SureSupport.com. I am paying for 500mb per year. I have a total of 415mb remaining and an unlimited number of mail boxes. I am not sure how fast my pages load for the first time. I guess that really depends on the size of the files being loaded. The video files do take a lot of time. In the past I have offered to place pages on the web for others in the group and I still make that offer, if any of the group is in need of a temp spot to place a few pages. I'll probably be flying my M1 from Jacksonville so let me know if you want to meet up here and fly together.
