To get it US certificated requires all of the homebuilder documentation like a newly built plane plus about 2 months downtime (Canadian decertification, and then US cert & registration - during that time the plane can not be flown). I was interested in the possibility of getting in the air immediately. Since that is not possible, I am going to pass on this opportunity. However, I do suggest that you get all of the documentation together with some pictures of its current condition for the next person. I will have to make the final repairs on my Q2 so that I can fly while I go back to finishing my KR (it requires major reworking). If you are not a member then you should join. You can down load diagrams from the aopa site. I believe I only pay around $9.00 at my local airport for the Airport Facilities Directory of the Southeast . I can't imagine the AFD for the northern section is more expensive. I tried to send you a drawing of Mt Vernon but my system tells me that your e-mail address is no good and attachments cannot be sent via the KRNet. A DAR I know tells me that the paperwork that they lead you to think you need is no longer required and all you need is an airplane and a letter from the builder saying he build it for pleasure. What if you showed up in Cal. with an airplane with no numbers and asked for an AWC ? Would you be bending the law ? I'm new to this so if this is a stupid question feel free to say so. Gov. will kill old laws and not tell anyone, I've seen them do it.
