I tried to download the blue print for the AS504X wing how ever they were so small that I couldn't read off the paper. If you take it to somebody with a wide format plotter (36" wide roll feed) that has some idea of what they're doing, and ask them to print it full size, you'll get full size plots you can use. Make sure to actually measure it and make sure you're not building a wing that's not to scale. > Which airfoil has been used the most, I'm assuming you've read http://www.krnet.org/as504x/, which I probably need to update. But it clearly says that if you are building one from scratch, the AS5048/45 is probably the one to use...at least if you are interested in maximizing fuel capacity and spar strength, which most folks would be. Otherwise, the AS5046. >and how high up from the bottom longeron do you put the diagonal pieces that fore and aft? I think what you're supposed to do is install the spars first, and THEN you figure out where to put the diagonals above the spars...basically point the diagonals to the top of the spar, in a manner similar to what the plans show, but adjusted somewhat to reflect the increased height of the AS5048 spar height. Get used to making such decisions by yourself, because you're about to find 3000 more instances where you need to think for yourself, because you won't find it in the plans. Not to say that it doesn't make good sense to poll KRnetters for what they did, however, when it comes to stuff like canopy height. >Would anybody have the latest information on the different flight characteristics of each airfoil or where I may find it? The flight characteristics are just fine, according to everyone who's flying one, so don't worry about it. If that worries you, build the RAF48 per the plans, and rest assured you're in good company there too... Could not read them. Jim, try to put them on a disk and then open the disk on your computer. If you enlarge the picture on your computer and can read the print in any area, then the problem is with Kinko's. If you can't read them, you have a problem with your program. Let me know and I'll send you a disk that I used. Pat Driscoll Saint Paul, MN patrick36@usfamily.net LIFE MAY NOT BE THE PARTY WE HOPED FOR....
