That's not very practical although I think Mark Langford may have done that. I think most builders place it in the middle as the best compromise. That would cut in half the possible flex between the weight and the outer portions of the aileron as compared to the weight mounted on one end or the other. Dynamic port ?? I assume you're talking about the static port to the flight instruments. The instruments will FUNCTION with the static port open behind the instruments but there is no way to judge their accuracy. It would depend on the in-flight pressure in the cockpit from air leaks , open vents, etc. Their readings / accuracy may or may not vary from flight to flight. Not a good idea. The friend who took me for my first ride in an open cockpit, wants to sell the Bakeng Deuce. You can see it at the link below and get all the specifics by clicking on the pic with me, in that plane. I will leave this information on the site for several weeks or until it is sold. I got to fly it for a while, and it is a good flying plane. However, it would not be particularly good for KR training as it is a "rudder" plane. See N64KR at http://KRBuilder.org - Then click on the pics See you in Mt. I am no VW expert, Mark L or someone else might be able to shed some light here. If you look at the motor from the prop flange, the prop hub exits the case off centre by approx 0.3mm. (a 0.3mm feeler guage can be squeezed into the gap). It is quite noticeable at a glance. It also leaks oil from this area although it runs fine. I suspected a faulty line bore but surely if the line bore was off centre to the case split line, it would still be concentric to the crank since the crank runs in bearings which are located by the line bored case??? There is another guy from Brazil that is interested in it and he has not got all his paperwork done and was looking at mid January, but he had it set up so I would crate it and deliver it to the Long Beach, CA dock and he would pay for shipping and all I had to do is drop it off. I have local people interested in it as well... but I definitely recognize your name as a long time KRNet guy so I do feel a little more comfortable if I have to ship it out of the country, but I also need it to be a little easier for me too!!! so if you can do the paperwork for customs or whatever... (don't want to call it an airplane engine .. just a car engine for the paper work) Let me know.
