But your CRUISE RPM will have to go up some to maintain the same cruise SPEED.... There ain't no such thing as a free lunch and the laws of aerodynamics are consistent..... On a laminar flow airfoil like the new KR airfoil you would want to place the vortex generators near the transition point to avoid increased drag from the vortex generators. I planned on using some plastic T shaped stock that is available at hobby stores and putting it on temporarily with double faced tape. I plan on doing it on my M1 one of these days when I get a chance. I think it is worth giving it a shot with the cheap temporary method, but I would not expect to get spectacular results. The KR already has a very low stall speed and really good low speed flying characteristics, especially for the cruise speed it has. Anyone that wants to do any mods to their plane for better performance needs to get a copy of "Speed With Economy" by Kent Paser. Ken spent many years doing small mods to his plane and meticulously doccumented the results he got. He increased the top speed on his Mustang II by 64 MPH, cruise speed by 50 MPH, climb by 800 FPM, and reduced economy cruise fuel burn by 50%, all without putting in a bigger engine. Nearly all of his mods can be done to a KR with similar results. I could not recommend it any higher. For your canopy construction you're using two rods to pull the canopy in. Will these rods be there permenantly? I can see that the rear rod will not pose any problems since it is located behind the head area. What about the one in the front? This domain name will expire sometime in April and I do not intend to renew it. It has been replaced with KRBuilder.org, which I do intend to keep, for the foreseeable future. So, if you currently have links using the domain name of KR-Builder.org, you will need to change it to KRBuilder.org if you do not want them broken in April.
